as what I see (not really true, better google about ADSL)
ADSL and ADSL2/2+ have different modulations

i think streamyx is still using ADSL modulation at T1413 or G.DMT)
for T1413, max downstream rate is up to 8Mbit/s and upstream rate up to 1.0Mbit/s
for G.DMT, max downstream rate is up to 12Mbit/s and upstream rate up to 1.3Mbit/s

TM only gives the maximum 512kbps upstream rated DSL line for user
and account level capped upload speed at 420kbps (53kB/s) to all streamyx accounts

so you only have around 420kbps upload speed

most ISP do not offer higher upload speed for ADSL for some reason


if you need upload speed, go Unifi

optical fiber network  both download upload speed are the same
