June palm oil stocks fall 10.3 pct to 1.66 mln tonnes

KUALA LUMPUR: Palm oil stocks fell 10.3 per cent to 1.66 million tonnes in June 2014 from 1.84 million tonnes in May, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said.
In a statement yesterday, MPOB said crude palm oil (CPO) stocks fell 15.45 per cent to 828,414 tonnes last month and processed palm oil eased 3.86 per cent to 828,322 tonnes.
Palm kernel stocks fell 12.47 per cent to 124,496 tonnes in June while crude palm kernel oil rose 12.78 per cent to 170,305 tonnes, it said.
MPOB said CPO production in June shed 5.26 per cent to 1.67 million tonnes from 1.66 million tonnes recorded in May, it said.
Palm kernel production in June was down 10.50 per cent to 357,315 tonnes from 399,239 tonnes registered in May and that of crude palm kernel oil output dipped 6.32 per cent to 174,085 tonnes.
Production of palm kernel cake eased 6.97 per cent to 192,966 tonnes in June from 207,431 tonnes registered in May.
MPOB said palm oil exports in June rose 5.28 per cent to 1.48 million tonnes from May’s 1.40 million tonnes.
It said CPO imports decreased 100 per cent in June from 8,025 tonnes in May while the import of processed palm oil dipped 74.24 per cent to 10.993 tonnes in June. — Bernama
